PUBLIC INTEREST INFORMATION means any information concerning the activities or resulting from the activities of a public authority or public institution, regardless of the medium or the form or manner of expression of the information (art. 2., letter b of Law no. 544/2001 on free access to public interest information).

According to the provisions of Article 6, paragraph (3) of Law no. 544/2001 on free access to information of public interest, the written request for information of public interest shall include the following elements:

(a) the public authority or institution to which the request is addressed;
b) the information requested, so as to allow the public authority or institution to identify the information of public interest;
(c) the name, surname and signature of the applicant and the address at which a reply is requested.
